We Heart MultiMaster

We are moving along very well on the closets in our master bedroom. Between yesterday and Saturday we were able to get the insides and outsides completely drywalled and ready for taping and mudding (my favorite part). While I work on that next, Chad can get the opposite wall (where the vanity will be) wired for new lights and outlets. Even though we're far from finished, I'm starting to feel like we're at least getting somewhere.

This weekend's work gave us yet another opportunity to profess our infatuation for our Fein MultiMaster tool Chad's mom got us for Christmas last year. Since we moved the closet wall out from its original location, we ran into some trim that needed cut to slip in the drywall. We were actually able to use the MultiMaster to cut a 1/2 inch wide notch in the trim in order to slide the drywall in (see picture at left). This tool is absolutely the best thing ever. It has fantastic control to do about any cut in wood, lathe, drywall, etc. It also made quick work of cutting outlet boxes in the drywall.

I think my favorite part of the MultiMaster history is how we received it from Chad's mom. See, sometime last fall Chad and I saw the tool on an infomercial early one morning. The more I saw its applications, the more we wanted it. Seriously, a tool that does tight work sawing (straight and rounded blades), sanding, and grout removal is a must-have. We looked it up online and were ready to buy, but for some reason we didn't. A couple months later, we were surprised (and excited) to open the MultiMaster on Christmas Day. We hadn't mentioned it to Chad's mom once, and somehow she just knew. A Christmas miracle maybe? :)

With the right tool, any job is possible. Unfortunately I collect the tools and leave the jobs for later :-)
