He and Chad worked on the plumbing for the master bath last spring, but when the nice weather hit, we focused our attention on the yard, shed, side door, etc. Now that we are finally back to the bathroom project, we needed to get the plumbing moving again. Before this weekend, what was left on the plumbing completion list was to install the tankless hot water heater and install the two valves for the double shower, plus pressure test the entire system.
This is what everyone was nervous for, simply because these lines were run from the basement, through a new hot water heater, up to the second floor, through a crawl space, and into the bathroom. In the bathroom there are two double sinks, two showers, and one toilet. My message - I can't even begin to guess how many joints were soldered in this project - 50? 100? More? When the pressure test was all said and done there were only 3 leaks - amazing and quite impressive. They were fixed in less than a half hour, and we are now ready to go.
What a lifesaver (and pocketbook-saver) Gary was through this whole process. We can't even begin to express how thankful we are for his skills, patience, "services," and time. We are now getting ready to think about tiling the shower and floor in front of the shower. I am starting to feel like this might all start happening pretty fast, provided we have the time to spend on it regularly.
During the plumbing party this weekend, I continued my work on the drywall finish work in the closets and vanity area. I think one closet is about finished, and the other is one sand and touch-up coat to go. The vanity area is just a step behind the second closet - probably two coats out there.
Thanks again, Dad, for coming to help us this weekend. We really appreciate everything.

Great Job with this project. We are looking into a tankless water heater, did you have to update all of your plumbing?
Thanks! The master bathroom needed new plumbing anyway, so we updated everything from the main line to the bathroom. We wanted a double shower, so we had to increase to 3/4 inch pipe (it was 1/2 inch). We have a hot water tank that services the rest of the house, so this tankless will just be for this bathroom only. As soon as we start using it (which should still be awhile unfortunately), we'll let you know how we like it. I'm certainly keeping my fingers crossed for great things!
