Our entry (and sometimes staging area) spent most of the summer and fall with piles of tile for the master bath and probably 50 potential paint chips to pair with it. Since our bedroom will be green, I was hoping for a contrasting plum/purple for the bath. But next to the warm tile, the purple was just too cold. On the day we decided to buy our paint, we came across a color we hadn't really considered (if that's possible) - Vaguely Mauve - from the Sherwin Williams collection. It seemed like a good mix of purple with a little pink for warmth. It seemed like a rash decision, but it needed to be made. That was at least 2 months ago, and I've been anxiously waiting for the day I could finally paint the bathroom to see if it was a good choice.
That day happened yesterday. After priming this past Sunday and painting the trim white on Wednesday, I applied Vaguely Mauve yesterday. I love it. I'm not sure it matches the tile, but I think it goes OK, and it is the perfect blend of purple with a little pink. It's not too shocking, and will make a nice relaxing color for the bathroom. I'll have actual pictures soon, but isn't this sample beautiful?

Our plans for the weekend? I think we are going to tile the shower - gasp!! We also considered refinishing the floors and installing the door trim and baseboards. Regardless, it will really be coming together. Yea!!
